Easy Woodworking Projects-5 Easy Things You Can Build Today

Making things out of wood is more than a hobby to me, it is more of an obsession. The look on my sons face when I finish a new wooden elastic band gun or wooden sword is just amazing. Here I will list 5 easy woodworking projects that can each be made in a couple of hours and the end results are great.

1. Wooden toys.

Quite a vague description I know but there are some really simple things you can make here that your kids will love and play with for years. Perhaps the simplest of the easy woodworking projects is a wooden sword or wooden guitar. All that is involved here is drawing a shape on some wood and cutting it out. Put some effort into the sanding and finishing of your toy and the results can be really cool. I made my son a sword years ago and he loves it to this day.

2. Wooden bird house.

Again this is a simple project that can be built in a matter of a couple of hours and the finished product will be a nice focul point to any garden. This easy woodworking project is slightly harder than the toys above but is still well within the reach of a beginner. The only wood you need for this project is six square and these can be fixed with l shaped brackets.

3.Wooden garden bench.

The garden bench can be put together in no time by simply fixing wooden slats together. The simplicity of this very easy woodworking project belies just how good the finished article looks. In fact I bet the one you could make will look better than one you could buy in a shop and for a fraction of the price.

4. A wooden go kart.

I must admit that this is my all time favourite, I will never forget scouring the backstreets trying find suitable wheels for my first go kart. I built it with no plans and it turned out ok. Later karts that I built using wood working plans turned out much better.

5. A wooden rocking horse.

Now this can be a real money maker, I has sold a fair number of these and they don't go cheap. A decent set of wooden rocking horse plans can yield you great results and the project is so simple to put together. This is one of the best of the easy woodworking projects to go for if you want to get something back from your hobby.

Thats just 5 easy woddworking projects and there are thousands more, the only reason I listed these ones is that I have built them with superb results.
